Guilty

I still feel guilty about the jeans

Okay, this is stupid, but it's been bugging me for like, fifteen years. When I was in high school, my family didn't have a lot of money. I worked a part-time job, but most of the money went to bills. All the girls at school were wearing these Seven for All Mankind jeans. They were like, $150, which was insane to me. I remember going to the mall with my friend, and I saw a pair on a clearance rack at Nordstrom. They were marked down to $50, but they had a tiny rip near the pocket. I tried them on, and they fit perfectly. I really wanted them, but $50 was still a lot. While my friend was distracted, I tucked them under my shirt and walked out. I felt so guilty, but I wore those jeans all the time. I still feel bad about it now. I hope whoever was working that day didn't get in trouble. I should have just asked my parents for the money, but I was too ashamed to admit how much I wanted them. I'm sorry.
