I lied about liking her cooking

Okay, so my wife, God bless her, she tries *so hard* in the kitchen. She really does. But sometimes? It's just...not good. Like, remember that green bean casserole with the weird crunchy stuff on top? Or that time she tried to make sushi? Anyway, I always tell her it's great. Every single time. She beams, she's so happy, and I just can't bring myself to tell her the truth. I feel guilty, because lying is bad, right? But what's worse, a little white lie or crushing her spirit? I don't know. Maybe I'm a terrible person, but I'd rather eat cardboard than see her sad face. I hope she never reads this. I really do.
