Thank

For the Breath I Almost Lost

Dear Lord,
The ventilator beeped 92 times an hour. Now morning light filters through oak leaves, and I cry holding my coffee. Thank you for nurses' hands, for antibiotics, for the resident who caught the sepsis in time. Thank you for my daughter's laughter downstairs, for second chances to be present. I'll never take grocery store flowers for granted again - their fragile petals hold Your majesty.
